Kyle Reneau is a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer based in Colorado with over a decade of experience designing, automating, and operating large-scale production infrastructure. Kyle currently works as a Senior Cloud Engineer at Raytheon, where he architects Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms in highly regulated, air-gapped defense environments.
Prior to his engineering career, Kyle Reneau served in the United States Marine Corps as a system administrator from 2015 to 2019. That background in mission-critical operations under austere conditions directly informs how Kyle approaches reliability, documentation, and infrastructure ownership today.
Kyle Reneau holds an active Top Secret security clearance and a CompTIA Security+ certification. He is currently completing a Master of Science in Software Engineering at Western Governors University (expected 2027).

Kyle Reneau specializes in platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and container orchestration. His core work includes managing the full lifecycle of Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters, writing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible, building GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and integrating enterprise storage systems including Nutanix, NetApp, and S3-compatible object storage.
Kyle has deep experience operating in constrained and air-gapped environments: disconnected networks, geographically isolated sites, and systems subject to strict change management and compliance requirements. He led a full migration from legacy Kubernetes clusters to Red Hat OpenShift in a disconnected environment with zero production service interruptions.
Outside of his professional work, Kyle Reneau runs a self-hosted homelab on bare metal, including a GPU inference cluster, a Proxmox hypervisor stack, and more than 20 self-hosted services. This site is served from that infrastructure.
